Assistance Day
Chins: 0
Wide-grip Pull-downs
90x10, 100x5, 120x5, 140x5, 150x3 + 2 partials
Face Pulls
90x12, 120x12 3 Sets
Shrugs
135x10, 225x10 4 Sets
DB Front Raises
15x10, 20x10, 25x5
Zerker Squats
135x5 3 Sets
Rope Push-downs
70x30
Lots of upper-back stuff. I can't do one
pull-up (Despite high-rep rows). Obviously
this is going to change. DB Front Raises are
harder and I think better than plate raises.
I'm going to work up slowly with zerkers.
A little about me
I have competed in both Olympic Weightlifting and Bench-Only Lifting. I competed in Olympic Lifting as a kid. Best lifts of 255 Olympic Press, 225 Snatch, 255 Clean & Jerk. I met many of the great lifters and coaches from the 60's and 70's. After a 20-year break to serve my country I started lifting regularly again and competing in Bench-Only. Best Lift: 419lbs "equipped".
Feel free to follow along on the adventure...

One thing of note regarding the face pulls: Make sure your standing up while your doing them. I was watching some videos on the EliteFitnessSystems page on Youtube and they were showing old westside clips and all of the guys, Louie included were doing facepulls standing up. They work your upper back in a completely different manner than seated. Also, work your grip/forearms with your grippers and dumbbell holds. It'll help on your chins. Can't wait to train with you again buddy!
