A dead day in the training of the deadlift!
Deadlifts from the floor:135x5, 225x5, 315x5, 435x2
Elevated Deadlifts:365x3 (5 sets with the last rep of the 5th set being the most difficult deadlift I've ever completed)
Back down to deadlifts from the floor 365x3 (3sets)
RDL's: 275x5 (2 sets)
I literally was just out of it today. I didn't get much sleep last night nor did I eat correctly today as I barely ate anything today due to being busy working on various tasks at work all throughout today. Excuses are only good for the people that make them but the fact is if your nutrition isn't up to par and you don't get enough sleep your performance is going to suffer as it did for me today. 365 isn't a difficult weight for me, its a transitional weight at best (by that I mean a weight to use as a warm-up) but number 1 pulling it in an elevated state was difficult because I had to pull it that much further plus no energy in the tank made it a difficult weight. I'll destroy it next week as I have more Muscle Milk coming in! Remember, to lift big, you gotta eat big!
A little about me
I have competed in both Olympic Weightlifting and Bench-Only Lifting. I competed in Olympic Lifting as a kid. Best lifts of 255 Olympic Press, 225 Snatch, 255 Clean & Jerk. I met many of the great lifters and coaches from the 60's and 70's. After a 20-year break to serve my country I started lifting regularly again and competing in Bench-Only. Best Lift: 419lbs "equipped".
Feel free to follow along on the adventure...
