A little about me

I have competed in both Olympic Weightlifting and Bench-Only Lifting. I competed in Olympic Lifting as a kid. Best lifts of 255 Olympic Press, 225 Snatch, 255 Clean & Jerk. I met many of the great lifters and coaches from the 60's and 70's. After a 20-year break to serve my country I started lifting regularly again and competing in Bench-Only. Best Lift: 419lbs "equipped".

Feel free to follow along on the adventure...

If I were you, I wouldn't focus so much on 3-boards. Given the State meet is less than a month away I would be gearing up your focus on 2 boards and 1 board sessions with the eventual goal of getting something to touch. Your lockout strength has improved greatly from the raw work and the 3 board work, however, now is the time to get your shirt to touch and to work from longer ranges of motion. If I were you, I'd do 1-2 board work and I would also emphasize doing dumbbell bench for high reps to help aid in not only recovery but increasing hypertrophy to get that initial push off of your chest. If you do this, I can easily see a near if not 400 pound bench at the state meet for you, but you have to switch now!

Tony,

I won't be in town Feb 16-18. I may lift on the 19th, not sure right now.
