A little about me

I have competed in both Olympic Weightlifting and Bench-Only Lifting. I competed in Olympic Lifting as a kid. Best lifts of 255 Olympic Press, 225 Snatch, 255 Clean & Jerk. I met many of the great lifters and coaches from the 60's and 70's. After a 20-year break to serve my country I started lifting regularly again and competing in Bench-Only. Best Lift: 419lbs "equipped".

Feel free to follow along on the adventure...

Abs x a bunch

My squat is getting there but still needs a lot of work. Was very pleased that I was able to do 315+Green Bands without a belt or knee wraps. My knee is getting stronger which is huge! It has been an Achilles heel of mine of years but it doesn't seem to be hurting and I can feel it getting stronger. The core is getting stronger as well with doing so much ab work and it is making a big difference. I'll be moving the bar weight up next week to around 350 with the green bands. Will try to avoid using the belt until I need it or until I need to go up in bar weight. So far so good. I'll be doing Max Effort rack pulls with bands on Friday and some sort of benching Thursday (I think reverse bands? with or without mini's attached) so things are looking up as usual. I think I'll need well over 500+ in bar weight with the bands to use my briefs so I'll be able to train without gear longer which is what I want.

Raw Strength, its what you need for a big squat, bench, deadlift, and total.
