A little about me

I have competed in both Olympic Weightlifting and Bench-Only Lifting. I competed in Olympic Lifting as a kid. Best lifts of 255 Olympic Press, 225 Snatch, 255 Clean & Jerk. I met many of the great lifters and coaches from the 60's and 70's. After a 20-year break to serve my country I started lifting regularly again and competing in Bench-Only. Best Lift: 419lbs "equipped".

Feel free to follow along on the adventure...

Alot tougher than the numbers
indicate. Looking for reasons why
my state meet went so badly, I
found that I'd cut out meaningful
assistance work for mostly shirted
boards. My triceps were weak, delts
weak. I was weak and didn't know it.
Assistance work will continue to the
point of trying for PRs right up to my
next competition.

It really is amazing to figure out how many mistakes we made. In hindsight, we made fatal errors that cost us in the end. The weakness' we are addressing now will benefit us down the line. Plus, tons of raw work really will be the key I think to skyrocketing our overall bench and strength. We know how we messed up, now lets fix what went wrong!
