A little about me

I have competed in both Olympic Weightlifting and Bench-Only Lifting. I competed in Olympic Lifting as a kid. Best lifts of 255 Olympic Press, 225 Snatch, 255 Clean & Jerk. I met many of the great lifters and coaches from the 60's and 70's. After a 20-year break to serve my country I started lifting regularly again and competing in Bench-Only. Best Lift: 419lbs "equipped".

Feel free to follow along on the adventure...

This concludes week 2 of a 3 week wave with doubled mini's. Next week will conclude the 3 week wave and then I'll move onto Monster Mini bands. The key will be to increase the amount of band tension down the stretch and make the accommodating resistance more difficult rather than the actual bar weight. In theory, this should develop the maximum force I need from the chest for a big bench. Consider that force=mass x acceleration. By increasing resistance with the weight I am using, I should increase acceleration on my bench raw and shirted overall. We shall see if science prevails!
